Ready when you are

Most people start with the quiz — it takes about 5 minutes and gives us what we need to send you a personalized offer. If you’d rather talk first, you can also schedule a short call.

Common questions about Concept Plan

It starts the same way every Reland project does: a short quiz, then a guided intake where you tell us about your space and how you want to use it. You can work fully online, or, if you’re in the Ottawa area, add an in-person site visit.

From there, we design your concept, the overall layout, the zones, how you move through the space, and the direction for materials and style. Often we’ll explore a couple of different directions so you can see the options.

Then we walk you through it together in a live presentation, not just a file in your inbox. We explain the layout, the thinking behind it, and where the space could go, so you leave with a clear understanding of your direction and what to do next.

Your concept is created by a professional designer, not a template or an automated tool. Our designers hold master’s degrees in landscape design and architecture, with years of hands-on field experience.

Even at the Concept stage, you get real design expertise applied to your specific space, which is what separates a considered direction from a generic one.

Yes. Every Reland project, including the Concept Plan, has a dedicated project manager as your main point of contact. They guide you through the process, answer your questions, and make sure everything runs smoothly from your first quiz to your final presentation.

For your Concept Plan, your project manager also leads the live presentation, walking you through the design and the thinking behind it, so you always have a real person to talk to, not just a form and a file.

You’ll have a clear design direction for your space: how it’s organized, how it flows, and the look and materials to aim for. For many homeowners, that’s enough to move forward with confidence, whether that means making decisions, sourcing pieces themselves, or starting a conversation with a contractor.

The Concept Plan gives you the direction. What it doesn’t include is the detailed documentation of the full plans, the measured layouts, planting and material specifications, and construction details that a contractor works from for precise quoting and building.

So it comes down to how you want to build. If you’re comfortable taking a clear direction and filling in the details as you go, the Concept Plan may be all you need. If you’d rather have everything documented and ready to build from, that’s when continuing to a full plan makes sense.

Yes, and many people start with a Concept Plan for exactly that reason: to get clear on direction first, then decide whether to continue.

If you’d like to continue, you can move into a full Online or On-Site Plan, with your concept as the starting point, so the work you’ve already done carries forward. If you’re in the Ottawa area, you can also add an in-person site visit at that stage.

Upgrading is most straightforward when you continue soon after your concept. If you come back to the project later, we may need to reopen and review everything first, which can involve a small reactivation fee. We’ll always make the options and any costs clear before you decide.
